The owner\u2019s name is changed upon receipt of the official certificate from your municipality\u2019s assessment department. However, there may be a delay (from a few weeks to a few months) in obtaining or processing information related to the transfer of ownership. year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are a new property owner, the bill may have been forwarded to the former owner\u2019s address, particularly if they requested mail forwarding through Canada Post.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>You are still required to pay your bill by the due date.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are a new property owner and have not received your school tax bill, please complete the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/staging-portail.cgtsim.qc.ca\/ecrire-au-service-a-la-clientele\/\"><span following actions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Option 1 (preferred)<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forward the school tax bill to the new owner as soon as possible (in person or electronically)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>OR<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Option 2 (if option 1 is not possible)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Return us the school tax bill in the original envelope, clearly indicating: \u201cReturn to sender\u201d and \u201cProperty sold\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>OR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0notify us by email at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:school.tax@cgtsim.qc.ca\">school.tax@cgtsim.qc.ca<\/a>, specifying that the property has been sold<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"block-accordion__item
