Through careful management of school taxes, it redistributes funds to the school service centres (SSCs) and school boards (SBs) on the Island of Montr\u00e9al to support educational catch-up where the needs are greatest.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>In 2024-2025, the CGTSIM is proud to have allocated a total of $13.5 million across the SSCs and SBs on the Island of Montr\u00e9al. The funds are intended to enable them to implement effective measures to ensure educational catch-up measures in underprivileged areas. The chart is divided into five segments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Centre de services scolaire de Montr\u00e9al (CSSDM): $6,082,653;<\/li>\n<li>Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l\u2019\u00cele (CSSPI): $4,032,978;<\/li>\n<li>Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys (CSSMB): $2,533,303;<\/li>\n<li>English Montreal School Board (EMSB): $583,733;<\/li>\n<li>Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB): $267,333.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The total allocated funds amount to $13,500,000.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Before allocating the amounts, the CGTSIM adheres to the <a href=\"https:\/\/staging-portail.cgtsim.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Modalites-de-repartition-en-pourcentage-des-allocations-prevues-2023-2024.pdf\">percentage-based distribution of allocations<\/a> (available in French only), as set out in the allocation rules.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h3\" id=\"map-of-school-success-and-social-deprivation-on-the-Island-of-Montreal\"><strong>Map of school success and social deprivation on the Island of Montr\u00e9al<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>To ensure an equitable distribution of allocations, the CGTSIM relies on the <a href=\"https:\/\/staging-portail.cgtsim.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Map-of-school-success-and-social-deprivation-map-on-the-Island-of-Montreal.pdf\">Map of school success and social deprivation map on the Island of Montr\u00e9al<\/a>. This map helps:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-list\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assess the correlation between the various sociocultural, sociodemographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the areas covered and the academic success of youth;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify the location of underprivileged areas where school success rates are lower;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Direct monetary allocations to the most vulnerable areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The most recent version of the map was published in 2023, based on the most recent data available from the Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00c9ducation and Statistics Canada.
